SM's done

I finally got round to making the Mk2 SM's.
Only a few minor tweaks but cosmetically the same on the outside, they look smaller in black too not sure if thats a good or bad thing !

I might be thinking of doing some 2x12" versions.

I will put some smarrt plots up of the response what I get time
Its also time to make some stands for them too.

The 118's are all built and painted too, just waiting to the grills to arrive and will put some pictures up.

118's on the way

Same as always been busy and just got to starting my 118 build, the ply was supplied by the nice folk at OHM, lovely stuff it is too.

Made a start on 4 118 subs, as always it took a while to get all the jigs correct for the feet, stacking cups, pole mount, handles, driver recess and connector dish.

Jig setup

Finished top panel

I should have all the panels machined and constructed by the end of the week, then filling, sanding and spaying.

SM's build

One SM built and the results are positive, the second is well on its way.

Im made up that all the time I spent making jigs worked out well, I screwed a frame to my work bench leaving the top open so I can slide each piece in.  The jigs were screwed to the frame allowing me to do all the cuts only having to mark one piece

The processing still needs a-little tweaking but solid bottom end present mids and nice clean highs, Smaart is giving me a response of 32Hz - 14Khz +-4db but need a more dampened room to accurately measure.
I'm going to be running it 3 way active with about 3K of amps, this gives you great dynamic range with plenty of headroom.

Been listening to Everything Everythings new album and Coldplay parchutes this week watched Django's Revenge swell killer soundtrack as are all Tarinteno films.

n121's done

Now then, now then.

My recent build of my n121 cabs are all done.

The Spraying went well seems i was popping my cheery with it but they sound great, look good and only weigh 15kg, I'd say the response is about 50Hz to 17-18Khz +-3db. I'll get some Smaart screen shots up in the next week or 2.

The SM are well on the way too, Spent ages making jigs to recess all the drivers.
Had a slight change of mid loading but should induce the same result.
All the panels are cut and starting to machine all the recesses and ports, pix to come soon.

I've still got my 18" subs bubbling away and need to get on my single and dual 8" +1" enclosures and single and dual 12" subs to complete then prototype.

Active stage box and pultec just need a few tweets too and there done.

After the distraction

Now that all the nonsense or the weeks past is over back to business.

The N121 (thats the name of the top/wedge cabs) are now ready for spraying which should be fun.
The SM's and on there way, started making the jigs for recessing the drivers and ports will have some pix in the next few weeks.

Had a custom patch panel to do as-well which I like making.

Our kid spotted this cool vid of Bobby Womack there well worth checking out theres 4 in total.
